Sinn Féin Proposes Overhaul for Immigration Management in Ireland

Sinn Féin has announced plans for a new immigration management agency to streamline application processing and accommodation for individuals seeking International Protection in Ireland. The party aims to triple staffing levels at an estimated cost of €82 million, ensuring prompt and equitable decisions. Proposals include placing accommodation centers in affluent areas and enhancing cooperation with Britain to manage immigration effectively. Sinn Féin also plans to phase out the special status for Ukrainian refugees by March 2026 and abolish the €800 Accommodation Recognition Payment, asserting that it disadvantages those seeking rentals.
