Activists Demand Action Against Gender Violence in Greece
On the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, activists from ‘Maichitikes kai Eleftheres Volo’ are calling for significant reforms in Greece. Their demands include the classification of femicide as a distinct crime in the penal code, the establishment of a counseling center for abuse victims in Volos, and the enhancement of support resources for abused women nationwide. A documentary screening of ‘The Iceberg’ followed by a discussion with filmmaker Manos Papadakis will take place on November 20, highlighting ongoing struggles for women’s rights and freedoms.
