New Urban Development and Flood Protection Projects in Therma, Greece
Two significant projects have been approved for Therma, a rapidly developing area near Thessaloniki, Greece. The first project focuses on urban redevelopment studies to support the area’s growth, which includes improving streets and public spaces. The second is a major flood management initiative aimed at securing the Anhemountas River to prevent flooding. Both projects, funded by the Central Macedonia Region’s European resources, have an estimated budget of over €9 million and are set to commence by 2025, addressing ongoing concerns of increased flooding due to climate change.
