French PhD Student Victor Dupont Released from Tunisian Custody

Victor Dupont, a 27-year-old PhD student from Aix-Marseille University, has been released from detention in Tunisia after being arrested on October 19. His release was confirmed by the French Foreign Ministry, stating he returned to France on November 14. Dupont was conducting sociological research on individuals involved in the 2011 Tunisian Revolution when he was taken into custody. The reason for his arrest remains unclear, although it is noted that his work was not politically motivated nor linked to security issues.
