French Culture Minister Rachida Dati is under investigation for allegedly receiving €900,000 from RNBV, a Renault-Nissan subsidiary, between 2010 and 2012, without performing actual work. The National Financial Prosecutor’s Office has called for a trial against Dati and former Renault-Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn, currently living in Lebanon and the subject of an international arrest warrant since April 2023. The inquiries are focused on whether Dati’s payments were intended to mask illicit lobbying activities within the European Parliament. Both Dati and Ghosn deny any wrongdoing.
