France-Israel Match Sees Tight Security and Low Attendance
The France-Israel football match at Stade de France ended in a 0-0 draw amid heightened security measures. Over 4,000 police officers were deployed for the ‘high-risk’ event, resulting in 29 arrests, including two for violent altercations between fans. Paris police chief Laurent Nunez reported that security was effective, despite a minor scuffle. With only 16,600 spectators, attendance marked the lowest in history for a French team match at the stadium, which has a capacity of 80,000.
