Death Sentences for Foreign Fighters in Ukraine Conflict
The Supreme Court of the self-proclaimed Donetsk Republic has imposed death sentences on two British citizens, Shaun Pinner and Aiden Aslin, along with Moroccan Brahim Saadun, for fighting alongside Ukrainian forces. The court’s spokesperson emphasized adherence to justice principles in the ruling. The accused were charged with various offenses, including seizing power and acting as mercenaries. Following their trial, the three men accepted some charges. They have one month to appeal the verdict, amid claims that nearly 7,000 foreigners have joined the Ukrainian military since the conflict began.
