In an interview, Selenskyj stated that without the necessary strength and security guarantees, any talks would be futile. Military analyst Oleksandr Musienko echoed this sentiment, warning that negotiations under current conditions could lead to Ukraine’s capitulation. Despite the severe toll of nearly three years of conflict, a third of the Ukrainian population expressed willingness for territorial concessions, as concerns over the unity of Western allies grew following German Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s recent conversation with Putin.
