The West Macedonia Professional Drivers Union, once representing 280 members before 2019, faces significant decline, now comprising only 100 members. The union’s election to establish new leadership will occur on November 10, 2024, at the city’s Labor Center. This decline follows de-lignification, prompting over 150 professionals to migrate abroad for better job prospects. Additionally, less than 40% of trucks currently operate through contracts in the mines, highlighting the challenges facing the industry.
