More than a third of Amsterdam’s metro stations are currently inaccessible due to broken elevators, impacting the mobility of disabled passengers. A total of 21 out of 93 lifts operated by GVB are out of service, particularly affecting the route between Isolatorweg and Amsterdam Zuid where seven metro stations lack accessible options. The transport company attributes the delays in repairs to long waiting times for parts, urging wheelchair users to consider requesting an alternative transport service, which has seen low usage.
