AfD to Separate from Youth Organization Amid Extremism Concerns

The Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) has decided to detach itself from its youth wing, Junge Alternative (JA), which has been classified as a far-right extremist organization by the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution. The party plans to establish a new youth organization modeled after the SPD’s Jusos. The current JA operates with considerable independence, but changes require a two-thirds majority at a party congress due to existing statutes.
