Ahmed al-Sara, the de facto leader of Syria’s Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, announced that his organization will dissolve during a national dialogue conference. In an interview with Al Arabiya, al-Sara emphasized that a country cannot be governed like an organization and pledged to protect minorities amid fears of extremist governance. The upcoming conference aims for broad societal participation to discuss issues such as the dissolution of parliament and a new constitution, while also addressing ongoing conflicts, including those with the Syrian Democratic Forces.
