A military airstrike in a market in Northern Darfur, Sudan, has resulted in over 100 fatalities and hundreds of injuries, including women and children. The attack coincided with the weekly market day, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in the region plagued by conflict between the regular army and the Rapid Support Forces (FSR). More airstrikes were reported in Nyala, South Darfur, further intensifying fears of civilian casualties. The ongoing violence, which began in April 2023, has displaced over 11 million people, leading to a significant humanitarian emergency, according to the UN.
