Alarming Survey Reveals Attitudes Toward Violence Against Women in Finland

A recent survey conducted by the Finnish women’s organization Nytkis indicates that one in five Finnish men believes women may be responsible for experiencing violence due to their appearance or behavior. While 90% condemn violence against women, the findings underscore a troubling acceptance of certain attitudes. Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo called the situation a disgrace, urging society and men to take responsibility for changing these dangerous behaviors. Additionally, half of women aged 16 to 25 report experiencing physical or sexual violence, highlighting a pervasive issue that demands attention.
