Aluminium Dunkerque CEO Calls for Long-Term Electricity Price Visibility to Ensure Competitiveness
In an interview with ‘La Tribune’, Guillaume de Goÿs, CEO of Aluminium Dunkerque, emphasized the strategic importance of securing long-term visibility on electricity prices. With the upcoming end of the Arenh system, which has provided reduced-rate nuclear electricity in France, the company faces challenges to maintain competitiveness in the global aluminum market. De Goÿs highlighted that electricity costs are the second largest production cost behind alumina, making this issue critical for the largest aluminum foundry in Europe.
