Ancient Stone Tablet of the Ten Commandments to Be Auctioned at Sotheby’s in New York
An ancient stone tablet inscribed with the Ten Commandments, dating back approximately 1,500 years, is set to be auctioned at Sotheby’s in New York later this month. The tablet, weighing 115 kg and featuring a height of about 60 cm, was discovered in 1913 in Israel. It contains nine of the Ten Commandments, missing the third commandment but including a directive for worship at Mount Gerizim, a sacred site for Samaritans. The estimated auction value ranges from $1 to $2 million.
