Andrew RT Davies Resigns as Welsh Tory Leader Following Confidence Vote

Andrew RT Davies, the leader of the Conservative Party in the Welsh Parliament, has resigned after a narrow survival of a confidence vote within his party. Following threats from some Members of the Senedd to resign from his frontbench, Davies acknowledged that his position had become ‘untenable’. In the vote conducted on Tuesday morning, he received support from nine members while seven opposed him, prompting his decision to step down as leader.
