Andrew RT Davies, the leader of the Conservative Party in the Welsh Parliament, has resigned after a narrow survival of a confidence vote within his party. Following threats from some Members of the Senedd to resign from his frontbench, Davies acknowledged that his position had become ‘untenable’.
