Aontú Proposes €5,000 Grant and Tax Incentives for Returning Irish Workers
Aontú has unveiled its manifesto, proposing incentives for Irish workers abroad who return to Ireland, including a €5,000 grant and a tax break of €10,000 for long-term employment. The policy, named Operation Shamrock, targets medical and construction sectors. The party also suggests disciplinary actions for civil servants wasting taxpayer money, a reduction in alcohol excise duties, and a new border agency for asylum processes. Aontú leader Peadar Tóibín criticized Fianna Fáil’s Micheál Martin for dismissing coalition opportunities, attributing it to personal grievances.
