Approval Ahead for New Veterinary School in Greece

On November 15, the National Authority for Higher Education will review the proposal to establish a Veterinary School at Democritus University in Northeastern Greece. This follows unanimous support from the university’s Senate on November 7, as announced by Deputy Minister Thanasis Kontogeorgis. The initiative aims to enhance local livestock management and establish a robust agricultural hub, with close collaboration between the government and academic institutions planned for its implementation. The region, known for its strong agricultural sector, is poised to play a significant role in veterinary sciences and animal health.
