Approval Secured for Rethymno Port Restoration Project in Greece

The Rethymno Intermunicipal Port Fund has secured the approval of Evangelos Kyriacopoulos, General Secretary of the Ministry of Shipping and Island Policy, for the project aimed at restoring functional depths and reinforcing Rethymno port’s defenses, originally budgeted at €17.3 million. Following this positive development, the fund will update project documentation and recalibrate the budget based on current pricing. A meeting with ministry officials is planned for December 11, 2024, to finalize the funding proposal for the crucial flood protection works.
