Arson Investigations Launched in Geneva After Consulate Fires

The Swiss Federal Prosecutor’s Office has opened investigations into two recent fires at consulates in Geneva, believed to be arson. The first incident occurred on August 13 at the Algerian UN representation, with minimal damage and no injuries. The following night, the French consulate experienced a similar fire, described as superficial and also leaving no injuries. French officials noted an increase in security measures following these incidents, while authorities are examining potential links between the two cases. Additional investigations are underway regarding subsequent vandalism at the French consulate.
