Austria’s government announced on December 9 that it will not veto the full accession of Bulgaria and Romania to the Schengen Zone, easing long-standing objections related to immigration concerns. A representative from the Ministry of the Interior confirmed that Austria will not utilize its veto during the upcoming EU interior ministers’ meeting to discuss the issue.
