Badger Burrows Cause £100,000 Road Repairs in Lincolnshire

In Lincolnshire, burrowing badgers have caused significant damage to a road, resulting in emergency repairs estimated at £100,000. The badgers dug a sett beneath the A52 at Seaholme Road in Mablethorpe, prompting the need for urgent repairs after delays due to licensing requirements from Natural England. The council must complete the work before the end of November to avoid disrupting the badgers’ mating season. A traffic management system will be implemented during the repair works, which run from November 8 to 20, amid existing road closures in the area.
