Bhopal Toxic Waste Removal Completed After 40 Years

Indian authorities have successfully completed the removal of toxic waste from the site of the 1984 Bhopal gas tragedy, where over 5,000 people lost their lives. The hazardous waste, totaling 337 metric tons, was transported to a treatment facility in Pithampur for incineration, which is expected to take three to nine months. Despite official assurances of safety, local activists express concerns about potential environmental hazards linked to the burial of residues from the incineration process.
