Founded by Nico Vos, the facility aimed to convert plastic waste into oil but faced financial difficulties due to high costs and investment needs. Although the technology was proven effective, the company struggled with community complaints over chemical odors and ultimately could not secure necessary funding for a takeover. This bankruptcy marks a significant loss for the regional sustainability fund, which invested heavily in the venture.
