Brazilian Police Investigate Family Poisoning Linked to Christmas Dessert

Brazilian authorities are investigating the poisoning deaths of three women from the same family after they consumed a Christmas sweet containing arsenic. The women, aged 43, 58, and 65, died following a family gathering in Torres, southern Brazil. The woman who prepared the dessert and a 10-year-old girl were also poisoned and are hospitalized. Police are collecting testimonies and awaiting further information from the recovering woman regarding the incident. There are no charges yet, and the investigation may reopen an earlier case involving the woman’s ex-husband, who died last September.
