British Museum Receives Historic Donation of Chinese Art Worth €1.2 Billion
The British Museum has received a monumental donation valued at €1.2 billion from the Sir Percival David Foundation, comprising 1,700 pieces of Chinese art dating from the 10th to 18th centuries. Highlights include two renowned blue-and-white ‘David Vases’ from the Yuan Dynasty. The collection, which has been on long-term loan at the museum since 2009, is now a permanent addition, aimed at inspiring future generations. This donation comes as the museum seeks to restore its reputation following past controversies over missing and damaged artifacts.
