Bus Éireann Secures €1.2 Billion Contract for Public Transport in Ireland

Bus Éireann has finalized a €1.2 billion contract with the National Transport Authority to maintain 206 Public Service Obligation routes until November 2029. The agreement aims to promote sustainable transport and improve service reliability, with over 250 million journeys expected during the contract period. The initiative includes electrifying the bus fleet, starting with a zero-emission service in Limerick. NTA’s CEO Anne Graham expressed commitment to enhancing services and supporting a greener future for Irish public transport.
