California Men Arrested for Insurance Fraud Using Bear Suit
In California, four men were arrested for allegedly committing insurance fraud by claiming their luxury cars were damaged by a bear. They provided a video that appeared to show a grizzly bear attacking a Rolls-Royce Ghost in San Bernardino. Upon investigation, a biologist confirmed the ‘bear’ was actually a man in a costume. California’s grizzly bears have been extinct since the 1920s. Police found the bear suit and metal claws used to scratch the vehicles at one suspect’s home. The men had filed claims totaling about $140,000 for damages to other luxury cars.
