The Irish Red Cross and other organizations are urging communities to support 15 Syrian families in Lebanon facing displacement. The Community Sponsorship Ireland programme aims to foster local integration for selected refugee families through accommodation and support. Since 2019, this initiative has resettled 26 families, but ongoing hostilities have increased the urgency for assistance. Ireland has pledged to resettle 2,900 refugees from Syria by the end of 2023, though challenges remain.
