The Lesbos Distillers Association has called for the introduction of a second vessel due to transport disruptions caused by the ferry ‘Pelagitis,’ which halted operations for nearly a month for emergency repairs. The association appreciated the support from the Lesbos Chamber of Commerce, particularly President Evangelos Myrsinias, in addressing this urgent issue affecting the transport of ethyl alcohol crucial for ouzo production. They emphasized that the need for additional vessel services has been repeatedly highlighted over the past decade due to increased export demands.
