On November 16, the municipality of Western Lesvos will host a commemorative event at the Municipal Theater of Kalloni celebrating 40 years of protection for the Fossil Forest and 30 years since the establishment of the Fossil Forest Museum in Sigri. Niko Sifounakis will be honored as an honorary citizen for his significant contributions to environmental conservation and cultural heritage. The event will feature a keynote address by renowned architect Manolis Korres, insights into past achievements, and performances by local music students, marking a historic moment for the community.
