Celebrating the Feast of Saints Theokletos and Philaretos on December 1st
On December 1st, the Greek Orthodox Church honors Saints Theokletos, Philaretos, and the Prophet Nahum. Saint Philaretos, known for his charity, lived during the reign of Emperor Constantine Porphyrogenitus. Once wealthy, he lost everything but continued to help the poor until his death. Saint Theokletos served during the 9th century, promoting moral standards among his followers. The day also coincides with World AIDS Day, highlighting the ongoing global health issue.
