Celebrating the Tradition of Tsiri Barbaras in Amynteo
On December 3rd, the residents of Amynteo will celebrate the annual Tsiri Barbaras tradition, marked by a festive gathering around a large bonfire. The festivities begin at 8:30 PM with the lighting of the fire at the city entrance, featuring local delicacies and wines. The event, rich in Roman heritage, symbolizes victory over fire and paying homage to Saint Barbara. A larger fire will be lit at midnight, leading the community to chant and dance through the night in celebration.
