The Church of Dimitriados celebrated Christmas with grandeur and solemnity, drawing a large crowd of faithful to its temples and monasteries. The evening before the holiday, a Great Vespers service was held led by Metropolitan Ignatios, with participation from clergy and laity. On Christmas Day, Ignatios delivered a message urging the joy of Christ to be shared in homes and called for prayers for those suffering, particularly those affected by war. He also announced the upcoming ordination of Deacon Euphemios Papageorgiou.
