The death of far-right politician Jean-Marie Le Pen, founder of the National Front, has sparked celebrations across France. Hundreds gathered in cities like Paris, Strasbourg, and Lyon to rejoice, lighting fireworks and holding signs denouncing Le Pen’s legacy. French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau condemned the crowd’s behavior as ‘shameful’. Le Pen, who died at 96, was known for his controversial views and had led the National Front for decades before his daughter, Marine Le Pen, took over and rebranded the party.
