Giannis Chatziantheodosiou, president of the Athens Chamber of Commerce, highlighted the rising costs faced by small and medium enterprises in an interview with ERT. He emphasized that housing, especially commercial properties with expiring leases, will be a significant issue in 2025. Additionally, he noted a shift in consumer spending towards online platforms and multinational companies, which has serious economic and social implications for the predominantly family-owned SMEs. He also pointed out unfair practices by some large international online platforms, calling for European intervention.
