Chancellor Olaf Scholz has called on German entrepreneurs to invest in Ukraine, asserting that such investments will yield profits as Ukraine aims for European Union membership. Speaking at a German-Ukrainian business forum in Berlin, he emphasized the potential for growth in Ukraine’s energy sector, particularly amid ongoing conflict. Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal highlighted the importance of private investments for Ukraine’s future, while expressing gratitude for Germany’s support and requesting increased defense spending for Ukraine in 2025. A meeting involving foreign ministers from several European countries is also scheduled to reinforce support for Ukraine.
