In harsh southern ocean conditions, Charlie Dalin and Sébastien Simon are locked in a fierce competition, with Dalin holding a 36 nautical mile lead as of December 4. Faced with terrifying seas and wind gusts exceeding 50 knots, both skippers express concerns about safety and the challenges of maintaining their boats. While Dalin and Simon race ahead, Yoann Richomme is making gains, currently 279 miles behind Dalin. With 39 out of 40 boats still in the race, the majority are still navigating past the Cape of Good Hope.
