Charlotte Dujardin Banned for Excessive Whipping of Horse Ahead of Olympics
Three-time Olympic dressage gold medallist Charlotte Dujardin has received a one-year ban and a fine of 10,000 Swiss Francs for excessively whipping a horse. The punishment, imposed by the FEI, follows the release of video footage showing her striking the horse shortly before the Paris 2024 Olympics. Her suspension is effective from the date of her provisional suspension, allowing her to resume competition in July 2025. British Equestrian and British Dressage will uphold this suspension at the national level as well.
