Charlotte Dujardin Banned for Excessive Whipping of Horse Ahead of Paris 2024 Olympics

Charlotte Dujardin, a three-time Olympic dressage gold medallist, has received a one-year ban and a fine of 10,000 Swiss Francs for excessively whipping a horse. Video evidence surfaced in July, showing her striking the horse days prior to the Paris 2024 Olympics. The ban by the FEI is backdated to her provisional suspension, allowing her to return to competition in July 2025. British Equestrian and British Dressage have also enforced a suspension, preventing her from participating in national events during this period.
