China has accused the United States of compounding its mistakes following the announcement of new tariffs on key Chinese products, particularly components essential for solar panels. The tariffs, announced by U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai, will double on solar wafers and increase from 0 to 25% on certain tungsten products. A spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Commerce warned that these measures would not resolve trade deficits and would harm U.S. consumers, urging the U.S. to correct its errors and cancel the additional tariffs.
