Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for the implementation of more ‘active’ macroeconomic policies for the year 2025 during an official New Year’s reception, according to state media. He emphasized the need to maintain overall stability while pursuing progress and accelerating the adoption of a new development model. Xi also projected that China’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is expected to grow around 5% in 2024.
