Co Offaly Homes to Receive Free Hot Water from Surplus Renewable Energy

Hundreds of homes in Co Offaly will benefit from a new initiative providing free hot water through surplus renewable energy. The project, supported by EnergyCloud, Amazon Web Services, and Offaly County Council, will equip 300 social housing families with smart devices to harness unused energy at night. Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Peter Burke highlighted the plan’s alignment with the Government’s Climate Action goals, aiming to reduce fossil fuel dependence. The project also aims to prevent the waste of valuable renewable wind energy.
