Today marks a day of remembrance for the Martyr Village of Drakia in Pelion, where Nazi forces executed 118 men and destroyed dozens of houses in December 1943. Alexandros Mekopoulos, a member of the Syriza party from Magnesia, emphasized the village’s suffering as part of the atrocities of Nazism, linking it to broader themes of justice and the memory of victims of war crimes.
