Commemoration of the 51st Anniversary of the Polytechnic Uprising in Larissa
The public gathered in Larissa to commemorate the 51st anniversary of the Polytechnic Uprising, honoring those who fell during the protests of November 1973. Various organizations and representatives from opposition parties participated, emphasizing the relevance of the uprising’s messages in today’s context. Following speeches by officials, wreaths were laid by local government and various educational and political associations. The president of the local ADEDY chapter, Michalis Tziatzias, highlighted the ongoing struggles of public sector workers and called for participation in an upcoming strike organized by GSEE and ADEDY.
