Liberal Democrats’ defense spokesperson Helen Maguire expressed alarm over these losses amid rising global security tensions. Items included a deactivated World War One machine gun and a Glock 19 pistol. Minister for the Armed Forces Luke Pollard stated that the security of firearms is a priority and that all incidents are thoroughly investigated.
