Concerns Rise Over Mystery Disease Affecting Wild Boars in Southern Pilio, Greece
Hunters in Southern Pilio are reporting dead wild boars suspected to be afflicted by an unknown disease, heightening public health concerns. Veterinary authorities have ruled out African swine fever but noted a general unease among hunters regarding the health of the animals they hunt and consume. Local hunter Angelis Raptis expressed alarm over the condition of the boars, which appear malnourished and may have scabies. While samples were taken for testing, results remain undisclosed.
