Continued Water Crisis in Mayotte Following Cyclone Chido
One week after Cyclone Chido ravaged the archipelago of Mayotte, residents continue to face significant challenges in accessing potable water. Thousands remain without adequate food and water supplies, prompting President Emmanuel Macron to emphasize the urgent need for water distribution. As recovery efforts begin, 80 tons of food and 50 tons of water were distributed, with plans to provide 600,000 liters of water daily. The cyclone’s devastation has left many homeless and incompetent medical facilities, further complicating the recovery process.
