Continuing Arrivals of Refugees on Crete’s Southern Shores

The influx of refugees and migrants continues unabated on the southern shores of Crete. Authorities are currently searching for a small boat approaching Gavdos Island, carrying an unknown number of passengers. Recently, 42 individuals from Egypt, Bangladesh, and Syria were found after arriving by boat. They are now temporarily housed in makeshift shelters and are expected to be moved to a southern port and then to a temporary accommodation facility in Chania.
